Dark Chocolate Date Bark Recipe 

Date Bark

We can confirm that the viral date bark is delicious! With only 4 ingredients it is super easy to make! It also only takes 10 minutes to make – bonus! They didn’t even last 24 hours in our house! 


Ingredients

You will need… 

  • 24 Medjool Dates 
  • 2-3 tbsp of Peanut Butter 
  • 100g Dark Chocolate 
  • A sprinkling of sea salt 

Method 

  1. Line a tray with baking paper. Then split the dates in half, remove the stone and place it onto the tray. Repeat and slightly overlap each date and press. 
  2. Place the peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 15-30 seconds or until it has become softer. Spread the peanut butter over the dates.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave using 30-second intervals, until fully melted, stir between intervals. 
  4. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter and dates. Using a knife, or the back of a spoon, spread evenly. 
  5. Lastly, sprinkle sea salt on top and place in the freezer for 30-40 minutes. Once the chocolate is set, remove it and cut it into squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Simply add your favourites to mix up the date bark! 

  • Try adding additional nuts on top of the peanut butter. Almonds, walnuts or pecans would work well. 
  • Use a different nut butter. Not a fan of peanut butter? Try using a different nut butter. Cashew or almond would work well. 
  • Add additional toppings. Dried fruit such as cranberries or raisins. Sprinkle with desiccated coconut. Top with chia seeds or flax seeds for added goodness!
