Homemade tortilla chips could not be easier! With only 3 ingredients, you’ll never opt for shop bought crisps again! All you need is tortilla wraps, (I used wholegrain seeded wraps) olive oil and seasoning. These crisps are crispy and strong enough to hold a good portion of the dip – perfection! These homemade tortilla chips are super quick to make and you experience the same taste and texture as your favorite shop brought crisps, at a fraction of the price and more importantly the calories.
To make a simple guacamole dip, I mash 1 avocado, add 1 small finely chopped red onion to the bowl. Mince 1 clove of garlic, chop 1 ripe tomato and the juice of one lime into the bowl and mix. Then season to taste. Served with the homemade tortilla chips, is a perfect appetizer for any guests or to simply eat in front of the TV. With only 30 calories per serving, they are the perfect healthy alternative to usually calorific snacks.
Time: 10 Minutes Servings: 4-6 Calories: 30
- 4 large Tortilla Wraps
- Olive Oil
- Seasoning of choice. (I used rosemary, garlic powder, and salt)
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. In a small bowl combine the olive oil and seasoning and coat both sides of the wraps. Then slice the wraps into 8 pieces.
- Place each tortilla chip onto a wire rack and place in the oven for around 5-7 minutes or until golden. Don’t forget to flip them halfway.
- Leave to cool and serve with a homemade dip.
These chips will go from perfect to burn very quickly, so, therefore, keep checking to ensure overcooking does not occur. Allowing the chips to cool enables them to become crunchy, if you eat them fresh out of the oven, they’ll be softer. To find more healthy recipes, click here to visit our blog.
